Methodology and primary sources

Calculators are implemented as transparent formulas and tables in code (for example TRAIN brackets, SSS MSC schedules, tiered water blocks). When agencies publish new circulars, we update inputs and document the change on the relevant page with a "last updated" note where applicable.

Always verify against official channels for binding decisions:

• BIR — bir.gov.ph (tax tables and revenue regulations)
• SSS — sss.gov.ph (contribution and benefit tables)
• PhilHealth — philhealth.gov.ph (premium rates and circulars)
• Pag-IBIG — pagibigfund.gov.ph (HDMF loan and contribution rules)

PH Calculator is an independent educational project — not affiliated with these agencies. Articles explain context; tools show assumptions inline so you can reconcile with your payslip or bill.

Editorial standards, independence, and corrections

PH Calculator is operated by the PH Calculator Team in the Philippines as an independent educational site. We are not affiliated with SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, BIR, DOLE, MWSS, ERC, or any utility provider. We do not sell payroll software, loans, or insurance — the site is funded through advertising only where permitted, and calculators stay free whether or not ads load.

Accuracy and sourcing. Articles and guides are written for clarity, cross-checked against primary sources where possible, and revised when agencies publish new circulars or tables. Calculator logic lives in code so assumptions stay consistent; each major tool pairs numeric output with short explanations so users know what is modeled and what is out of scope (for example employer-specific allowances or CBAs).

Human review. We prioritize corrections that affect payroll figures, statutory contributions, withholding tax, loan estimates, or utility bills. When a reader reports a discrepancy with evidence (page URL, inputs, expected result, and link or citation to an official source), we reproduce the case, classify whether it is a bug, an outdated table, or an explanatory gap, then update the affected page and note substantive changes where readers expect to see freshness.

What we do not do. We do not provide personalized tax, legal, HR, lending, or benefit advice by email. We cannot access your employer payroll system or government member portal. Use our tools to prepare questions for HR, your CPA, or the agency that has authority over your case.
